Title: Online damage detection in euler-bernoulli beams using the extended kalman filter

Abstract: In this paper an identification method is used for online damage detection in Euler- Bernoulli beams, based on the idea that damage is represented by a change in some of the beam parameters. The method consists in using a nonlinear filter, the Extended Kalman Filter, to track changes in the beam parameters. Results are shown for data subject to different levels of noise.
